ARSC-Friends,
Thanks for all the help on the last question regarding headphone amps.
Now I've got another. I'm poised to begin a new project that will require
an inexpensive digital audio signal (S/PDIF and/or TOSLink) input device
(PCI card, USB dongle, PCMCIA card, etc.) for use in my home. It will be
used to accept a TOSLink or S/PDIF signal from the digital output of a
MiniDisc component unit so that I can transfer MD field recordings to a PC
(my dissertation research and my fiance's fieldwork) for CD-ROM and HDD
storage.
Please note--I'm not asking about A/D converters--just interested in
lower-cost (i.e. $50 to $150) digital audio signal input options for
Windows PCs (XP). All I want to do is get the digits off the MD as digits
and then on to the PC as digits.
I'm familiar with the Edirol TOSLink-to-USB doo-dad, the UA-1EX, and I'm
curious to know if anyone has used it for digital audio input.
As always, thanks!
andy
