Thanks very much for this considered postin, Richard. In the late 70s we were using Shamrock 7" castoffs, and it seemed that some of it was backcoated and some was not, as a manufacturing defect as the oxide looked ad performed the same to our untrained ears. Would it be helpful if I could ghet some samples like this? I'm not sure I can, and not assurance that it was a similar batch if so, but it has me wondering...
