We will all be saddened by the news that Peter Copeland passed away at his London home last weekend following a diabetic-related illness. He died either late on Saturday night, 29 August or in the small hours of Sunday 30 August.
Peter was Conservation Manager at the British Library National Sound Archive (now the British Library Sound Archive) for 15 years until his retirement four years ago. His contribution to our work, steering us through the uncertainties of the digital revolution, is his lasting legacy, and many of us will remember his complete devotion to his work, and the manful way in which he dealt with the constant challenge of his diabetes.
May he rest in peace.
