Re: [ARSCLIST] Request for info: Columbia Studio/Warehouse Fire

I know that it's bad form to respond to one's own posting, but...

Earlier, I wrote (regarding archival material from the 70s):
>In the meantime, for the people I am trying to help with this content, I
>shall just have to restore LPs for them, I suppose.

I have had a few concerned folks write to me privately worried that I
might be restoring my own 1970s LP collection for sale to interested
parties. Allow me to state that this is emphatically NOT the case. I
have been asked to restore some material from this era by people who
actually own the LPs in question and just wish CD backup copies since, in
some cases, their old audiophile turntables/cartridges/stylii/whatever
have given up the ghost. Before proceeding with their requests, I am
checking to see if there may be any commercially released material out
there that might be better than what I can do with the vinyl. It was
discovering the big hole in CD re-release coverage and the answers to my
subsequent inquiries about it that led to my earlier postings on the
subject.

Thanks to all who are concerned about my legal well-being and thanks,
especially, to those who have pointed me toward some useful information
regarding this period of recorded history.

All the best,

Chas.
