Re: [ARSCLIST] The ways CD's and DVD's can fail.

For what it's worth, I've had ONE (1) commercial CD fail since 1986, and
that was due to a manufacturing error, according to CBS/Sony who
promptly replaced it. Another one, from Time-Warner, doesn't mount in
some drives and I've never been able to find a way to get it replaced
and it's out of print a long time now anyway. That's it. Collection now
totals 5000+ commercially-manufactured CD's. Oh and also several hundred
commercial software CDROMs, never a problem with any of them. So I
conclude it's actually a very hearty medium.
You are quite fortunate. Bronzing has taken quite a few of my discs and
one brand has had 100% failure from ink printing through. Bronzing
afflicted several major classical labels, but the Nuova Era ink problem
ended the label - no replacements.
