Re: [ARSCLIST] Bugle Calls by Chief Trumpeter Cassi

I seem to recall hearing Cassi on "Thomas Edison's Attic",some time back.and yes,in 1898,he recorded a cylinder or two for Edison. These were put out on CD,by Glenn Sage/tinfoil.com http://www.tinfoil.com/vo-bw98.htm

According to Brian Rust, Cassi made three recordings of the bugle calls he had sounded for the Rough Riders in their 1 July 1898 charge up San Juan Hill -- recording them on 28 Nov 1898 (Berliner 3438); in 1899 (Columbia cylinder 3769); and c. Feb 1902 (Columbia 638). Paul Charosh's Berliner discography says Cassi recorded other bugle calls of the American and Spanish Armies for Berliner 3439, 3440, & 3442, the first two known to have been recorded on 28 Nov 1898.
