Are you experienced Archivist? HITN is uniquely positioned for major growth
in this area of digital television and on-demand programming. This position
will utilize your experience to manage the day-to-day operations of the
digitization and preservation Project, including the following
responsibilities:
-Analyze use of asset library and prepare reports on its utilization;
-Consult with other project staff to determine appropriate equipment,
technical standards, and workflow for digitization process;
-Identify appropriate media metadata standards and make recommendations for
application to this project;
-Adapt existing database or create new ones as needed;
-Prepare recording for digitization, including light conversation work as
needed;
-Coordinate the transfer of original and digitized recordings between work
site and offsite storage;
-Train HITN staff on proper archival techniques and use of asset management
system;
-review financial activities of department and participate in corporate
budget process
-Work with IT to implement HSM
-Manage file location system and identity (UMID)
-Determine the period of time content should exist in the different tiers
-Represent HITN at various community and/or business meetings; promote
existing and new programs and/or policies
-Collaborate with other institutions, libraries, and content providers both
domestic and international
QUALIFICATIONS
-College degree
-Experience in audio engineering, archives, library science and another
related field
-3 years of relevant experience
-Bilingual (Spanish/English)
