Yes,

This organization is now known as the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), but it is much more focused on "wrapped" digital objects that are made up of divergent file types - not limited to audio.

So, I don't see them as a "competing format"....more so a "package" format designed for the post production environment.

I think most developers are waiting to see where the EBU is going to come
down since their requirements will become an integral part of many purchase
orders. There is a competing combined audio and video format that is trying
