Re: [ARSCLIST] Fritz Reiner Brandenburgs
It is not listed in the James North discography of the NY Phil. That volume limits citations to those recordings where the ensemble is identified as the New York Philharmonic, New Symphony, or New York Symphony. Not included are recordings by the East Coast version of the Columbia Symphony Orchestra which at times included members of the Philharmonic, Met Orchestra etc.

Does anyone know if the personnel on the recording of Bach's
Brandenburgs (Columbia ML 4281/2/3) conducted by Reiner and "Soloists
and Chamber Group" are the NY Philharmonic or just a pickup group that
included a number of Philharmonic players (William Vacchiano, Julius
Baker, Leonard Rose, William Lincer, to name a few)?
The playing is quite good and not all that dated sounding (well, there
are a lot of ritardando endings, but nevermind) to my ears that have
become well attuned to the descendants of Harnoncourt and others of the
period instrument movement.
