Re: [ARSCLIST] TO DAVID LEWIS: Re: Tradition/Everest/Vanguard Classics/Bernie Solomon

Hi Steve:

You're talking about Vanguard, describing as honorable? That's always what I heard too from contemporaries in the NYC music biz world. They made some really nice classical records in the early 60's, nice interesting material performed and recorded well. I have a few that were reissued on Analogue Productions vinyl in the 90's and they sound fantastic. Some of the SACD's that Artimus reissued sound great too. I believe that was the last bunch of stuff the late David Baker was working on.

Seymour did, a bit. Maynard was a suaver character. I got along well engough with both but my sense of humor fitted better with Seymour. A good pair, honorable businessmen in an often graspy business.

David,

Did this "Partner" of Solomon's have sort of a raspy voice with a new york/east coast accent?

 Sincerely,
 G.E.
