Solomon bought the classical catalog back from Bernie Solomon and started Omega Records. Then, after 
Seymour Solomon died, the catalog was bought by that company that Danny Goldberg started, which I 
think is now defunct. This was the group that got some of the Vanguard material out on SACD. So 
what's the status on that catalog now? That Vanguard Classics catalog, by the way, also included at 
least a few titles from the very old Concertapes catalog, including some of the Fine Arts Quartet 
recordings.

I believe the Vanguard folk catalog was retained by Bernie Solomon and so its fate may be in limbo 
too.

It was either last year or the year before - not long ago. Bernie was a
customer of mine at the Tower Records store in Woodland Hills where I
managed and bought in the classical department. He operated out of the
office of DCC which, at the time and probably still, was also located in
Woodland Hills. The Legacy Int'l/Bescol (the "Bes-" in Bescol standing for
"Bernie E. Solomon") line was something that always vended to us by a
partner, directly out of his car. Catalogue of only 168 releases if I
remember, dirt-cheap and all derived from Everest. Probably the partner, or
perhaps even DCC, is continuing to fill your orders. Bernie definitely died;
it took me some time to find notice of it myself, but ultimately I found a
Billboard entry or something, not sure what.

  I have been reading the forums on Tradition/Everest and Vanguard Classics,
and read that Bernie Solomon passed away... when did this happen? The reason
I ask is because I had been a customer of his mail order CD business "Legacy
International" and I always dealt directly with him, so I am just curious...
