[ARSCLIST] Fwd: [ARSCLIST] Boxes for album sets

David --

You might have telephoned Cabco by now concerning your question (forwarded)
about the dimensions and capacity of their LP boxes, but having bought them I
can testify that the 1/2" boxes will not hold four LPs in paper sleeves. The
boxes are as wide as those formerly used by record companies for two LPs and a
booklet of some sort (e.g. the Toscanini LM-6020 we recently corresponded
about). Four records would require a 3/4" box.

Cabco has been around since at least the sixties..I remember getting some samples from them way back when. And they list a toll-free number and e-mail address if you scroll down.

Only question I have, which I'll ask when I phone them (presumably they're taking a holiday today), is whether their measurements of 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch are inside or outside. If a 1/2 inch box will hold four LPs in paper sleeves, that's what I need. The 3/4 inch boxes seem to list for the same price but I don't like empty space. (Like those ridiculous boxes London sometimes used in the fifties for ONE LP.)

Have you done business with these guys before? These prices seem very reasonable, so reasonable that I'd like to make sure they are legit before ordering. The website seems non-functional except this catalog PDF, but that could just mean they're an old-school mom and pop shop. Their sleeve and package prices seem a little bit lower than the place in Rochester.

I've finally found a source for boxes for album sets! Not the shipping boxes, but replacements for deteriorated box sets or for orphaned discs that never had a box of their own, library discards etc. CABCO has 'em. See page 4.

They also sell steel needles!
