Re: [ARSCLIST] David Bonner
Can't answer. Someone else will know more about this than I do. There was
a recent kids record priceguide. Maybe there?

Hmm. I wonder if that date is right or if there was an earlier series from
what I grew up with. The ones I had were released in the early 60's. and
were not early-era kind of LPs. They were definitely made from tape
because the master tapes still existed as of the early 1990's.

"Mercury launched the Childcraft label in association with the respected
children's brand of the same name (1952). That's it.
The book is not a study of all kids labels but does place his various
subjects in context. Childcraft is in a list of the other kids labels.

Does Bonner's book have any details on the Mercury Storyteller series? I
am pretty sure they were made in Chicago but don't know any details on
the actors, producer(s), etc? Also whether it was a 3rd party endeavor
that Mercury released or whether it was Mercury-generated project. Also
where it was recorded, when, etc?? Those Storyteller records were a
major part of the soundtrack of my childhood. Also Golden Books' records
(many produced and/or conceived by Mitch Miller). And some series of
"science music" records -- a song from which was later covered by of all
people They Must Be Giants. And of course the Riverside Records series
"A Child's Introduction To ..."
This guy has a large collection of kiddie records in mostly
low-resolution MP3:
