Re: [ARSCLIST] Stanley Holloway vinyl

Elephant Alphabet sounds familiar..I think I have it. Will check.

The Gravedigger scene was issued on 78 (HMV C 3757, RCA Victor ..in DM 1273, don't have the individual disc number handy), 45 (in RCA WCT 26), ten-inch LP (RCA RCA LCT 5..no idea why the LP # didn't match the 45 #), 12-inch LP (RCA LM 1924). I don't know about the Caedmon Hamlet.

Hi David,
Don't have any info on a Hamlet soundtrack excerpt. Was it released on 78
or LP? Please-details if you have them. Thanks!
There were 2 Caedmon recordings - Macbeth and As You Like It which list
Holloway, I assume they also did Hamlet - was Holloway on that?
There is only one Wonderland that I have listed (1415 Elephant Alphabet),
but the Riverside online discography has lots of numbers with no
information, so it might have been reissued - another list suggested a title
which sounds Wonderland-ish "What Happened at the zoo" but no label
information.
  Best wishes, Thomas.

That's one I've never heard of..unless maybe it was REISSUED on Wonderland (seems to me I might have something in the kiddie section I haven't looked at in years).

I didn't look but did you list the Hamlet soundtrack excerpt (How Long Has
Thou
Been Gravedigger) from 1948?

Seems to me Holloway didn't do much recording at all in the 40s and into the
50s. Too busy making movies.

Hi Mike & David,
Thanks for this information. I would appreciate a track list,
performer
and production credits,
and the characters in the wax, particularly if there are any crossed-out
numbers (indicating that
the Judson is a re-release of some other Riverside or Wonderland album).
  Much appreciated!
  Best wishes, Thomas.
Glad to oblige. The wax is inscribed J 3026 (A and B for the two sides).
B side also has an A inscribed at 90 degrees.
