Re(2): [AV Media Matters] Compression discussion.
D1 has specialist applications but is hardly a general purpose format - as
an archive format should be to guarentee longetivity in terms of machine
availability and maintenance spares - and is very expensive. With D5, at
standard definition it is non compressed, but I think not at HDTV???
D5 does not really have a high market penetration or future from my point of
view in Europe. I'm sure it is a good format, but fails for me for the same
reason as D1.
