Preservation Issues in Small to Mid-Sized Libraries DG Agenda
Please join the Preservation Issues in Small to Mid-Sized Libraries
Discussion Group and the Preservation Education and Outreach
Discussion Group as they present a special, one time joint meeting at
the 1997 American Library Association Annual Conference.
Focusing on those small to mid sized libraries that do not have a
preservation librarian or easy access to print materials, this
meeting will look at preservation resources available
electronically. A representative from SOLINET's preservation field
services office will provide a valuable look at the increasingly
important resources that can be found on the Internet, such as
institutional Web sites, full-text publications, form discussion
groups and newsletters, and sources for supplies and services. The
session will include handouts and demonstrations of current
resources, and time will be made for discussion, questions, and
hopefully, answers.
The meeting will be held on Sunday, June 29, 1997 from 2:00pm to
4:00pm in the Crowne Plaza Parc Fifty Five Hotel - Raphael Room.
As the chair of the Preservation Issues in Small to Mid-Sized
libraries DG, I would like to acknowledge the co-sponsor of this
meeting, Margit Smith, chair of the Preservation Education and
Outreach DG, for all her efforts in planning and organizing this
joint session. I have been able to get settled in here at Tulane much
more easily, knowing she had this meeting well under control. Thanks,
Margit!
