For those of you interested in my earlier posting of today
referencing the University of Kansas condition survey of
books in which it found that paperbacks held up as well
as hardbacks, see the Vol. 20 # 7 issue -- Dec. 1966 --of the Abbey Newsletter.

It is available on-line at CoOL: on the Contents page of that
volume it is listed as the Paperback vs. Hardbacks article by
Brian J. Baird.

It does address the issue of libraries saving money by not binding
paperback monographs.
