CD-ROM STORAGE
At the moment, the National Library of Spain reformatting its newspapers
microforms collection to CD-Rom. In total, about 50.000 rolls will be
reformated, besides other microforms, so that we will have in next years
a considerable growth of compact disks. This was already a big problem
in the sound records division, and outlines us a serious storage
problem, because the space drifted for this section will be very small.
Does somebody indicate me the appropriate methods for the storage of
this type of materials?. We think acquiring rotational closets. This one
win space and storage capacity. Should they have these closets some type
of special device?. On each self , we will settle metallic boxes, and
the disks will be conserved in polipropylene boxes or polyethylene, in
vertical position.
I wait your news, best wishes
