Binding Automation Discussion Group
Saturday, June 26th 2pm to 4pm
Chateau Sonesta Lafitte A.
The Binding Automation Discussion Group (BADG), meeting next week in New
Orleans during the Annual American Library Association conference, will
gather to further discuss efforts to integrate binding automation software
with Library Management Systems. This discussion, begun at Midwinter in
Philadelphia, will try to define which data elements (to be drawn from
ANSI/NISO Z39.76-Data Elements for Binding Library Materials) to include in
a short list. The goal of this short list would be to hasten the
development of new software designed to exchange binding data between
binding software and Library Management Systems with limited human
intervention.
This topic was discussed heavily on the LARS-L list during the month of May.
If you would like some background, please check out the LARS_L archives at

See you Saturday!!
