Mass Deacidification in the Digital Age.

About ten years ago when digital library initiatives began, mass
deacidification was known more for its failures than successes.  With
libraries focusing limited resources on digital initiatives are we
underrating a technology which can significantly extend the life of paper
based collections?  With the emergence of reliable deacidification
processes, how does mass deacidification influence our treatment and
reformatting decisions?  We'll look at materials selection, cost, and,
processing routines for a beginning mass deacidification program.
