DOCUMENTATION OF OUR BUILT ENVIRONMENTLocation: The Athenaeum of

The Conservation Center for Art and Historic 
Artifacts (CCAHA) and the National Park Service Museum Management Program are 
cosponsoring a three-day conference on the management of architectural records, 
from Wednesday, May 3 through Friday, May 5, 2000, at The Athenaeum of 
Philadelphia. The goal of this conference is to improve practices for 
preserving, managing, and providing access to the documentation of our built 
heritage. Twenty speakers will address the challenges involved in managing 
architectural records collections, on both theoretical and practical levels, 
through keynote addresses, lectures, case studies, demonstrations, and 
tours.

The Conservation Center for Art and Historic 
Artifacts (CCAHA), established in 1977, is a non-profit regional conservation 
laboratory serving other non-profit cultural, educational, and research 
institutions, as well as private individuals and organizations. CCAHA 
specializes in the treatment of works of art and historic artifacts on paper, 
such as prints, maps, posters, architectural drawings, historic wallpaper, 
photographs, rare books, scrapbooks, manuscripts, and related materials, such as 
parchment and papyrus. It also offers on-site consultation services; educational 
programs and seminars; internships, fellowships, and apprenticeships; and 
emergency conservation assistance.
