Wednesday-Thursday, September 26-27, 2001 at the University of Georgia,
Athens, GA from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Libraries continue to be challenged by crumbling 19th century book and paper

Council on Library Information Resources considers preservation microfilming
"the gold standard" for preserving the intellectual content of brittle,
endangered materials. The two-day session will cover planning projects,
selection and preparation for filming, microfilm technology and equipment,
standards and quality control.
This workshop is designed for staff in all types of libraries and archives
who manage or work with microfilming projects, preservation administrators,
and collection managers.
Instructors are Steve Eberhardt, SOLINET Preservation Microfilm Services
Coordinator; Bob Mottice, Director of Technology and Quality Control, Bell &
Howell and private consultant; and Becky Ryder, Preservation Librarian,
William P Young Library, University of Kentucky at Lexington.
Cost is $155 governing members ($145 early bird, $180 late registration),
$165 associate members ($155 early bird, $190 late registration), $195
affiliate (non-members) ($185 early bird, $220 late registration). Any
institution within Georgia qualifies for the member rate.
