The Library Assistant IV/Binding Marking Supervisor is responsible for the
day-to-day operations of the Binding and Marking units.  He/she is
responsible for training 4 FTE staff and 4 FTE student assistants;
processing commercial binding shipments in and out; hiring and training new
staff; monitoring work flow.  The LA IV functions as the immediate contact
for the preservation concerns of library staff from other areas, resolves
bibliographic and binding errors and manages Preservation Department pseudo
patron records.  He/she records Binding/Marking unit statistics, manages
rush and recall requests, resolves sample back problems and serves as
Departmental representative in upgrading the integrated library system.
