[PADG:1471] Preservation Assessment contract
THE ASSOCIATION FOR MANITOBA ARCHIVES
GLOBAL ASSESSMENT COOPERATIVE
REQUIRES CONSERVATOR
A Conservator or an archivist or librarian with an extensive background in
preservation management is required to complete global preservation
assessments for a "co-operative" of twelve member institutions of the
Association for Manitoba Archives.
Nine of these agencies are located in Winnipeg, two in rural Manitoba within
driving distance of Winnipeg, and one in the North.
The successful candidate will be a graduate of a program in conservation
with several years experience working in the field or a graduate of an
information studies program with a solid background in preservation
management. He/she will have a demonstrated understanding of the role and
needs of sponsorial archives, the ability to interact with individuals from
a broad spectrum of educational backgrounds, commitment to the participation
of "co-op" members in all phases of the assessment process and the ability
to balance theory with practical realities. Excellent communication skills
with demonstrated ability in time management are required.
This is a contract position with remuneration based on qualifications and
experience. Travel/accommodation support may be available for a suitable
candidate from out of province.
