[PADG:1621] Catalog record for remastered microfilm

Hi,

We're in the midst of a full review of the master reels of microfilm that
we created in-house. As film is reviewed, we're having our acetate master
negative film replaced by producing a new master on polyester film.
(Acetate masters are being retired but not disposed.) We've come up with a
target to alert users that the master negative being used is not the
original master. Language we use is "In order to preserve the information
on this film a new negative master was created from an existing, older
negative film. [date new film created] University of Iowa Libraries".

We'd like to indicate in the catalog record in some way that the microfilm
copy being used is no longer a copy from the original film but from a new
master from older film. Has anyone come up with a good way to do this? Any
example cataloging records that you could share?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
