Dear Preservation folks--
This may be the strangest question posted to this list, and I hope one
of you can help. Steve Maisel is seeking props for use in the filming
of the NBC series "Crossing Jordan" and contacted ALA for assistance.
His request follows. If you have an old Recordak in the corner, contact
Steve directly either by e-mail or by phone.
Just think ... your old workhorse microfilm reader a TV star!

Hi Karen,
Thanks so much for your assistance.
As we discussed, we are looking for 3 Recordaks to be used in an
upcoming episode of Crossing Jordan (NBC at 10:00 on Mondays). Because
this episode takes place in the early 1960's, we will not be able to use
a microfiche reader. We are looking for the table top version of the
Recordak.
Can you help us find this units? We only plan on using this Recordaks
within a two week period. Filming starts at the end of next week. So,
once we've found the units, they will need to be rushed to Univresal
Studios in Los Angeles. We can pay for shipping.
Also, if you know of any units that are for sale, that's great.
However, we do not have a large budget.
Please call me if you learn anything new. 818/733-3287.
Thank you!
Steve Maisel
