For those of you who might not be familiar with the Curators & Conservators
Discussion Group, it is a unit
within the Rare Books & Manuscripts Section (RBMS) of ALA.
The Discussion Group focuses on conservation decision-making issues
as they apply to archival and special collections materials.
Discussions often include actual case studies, updates from professional
conservators'
meetings and regional conservation labs, and information-sharing with
colleagues.
Anyone interested in conservation treatment issues within the context
of an overall library/repository preservation program will be
interested in this Discussion Group.
C&CDG notes of past meetings can be viewed on the ALA Rare Books &

A. Those proposed by the attendees
B. Email questions or ideas from our colleagues who can not attend
the meeting (read by Lane)
10 minute break
IV. Input concerning the group's future existence (to continue or not?):
A. Comments from the attendees
B. Email comments from others (read by Lane)
C. If continuing, possible topic suggestions for the upcoming
summer conference in Toronto
D. Summary / Consensus for Lane to report to the RBMS Executive
Committee
V. Adjournment
