A copy of the RFP may be viewed and downloaded by going to this URL- http://www1.eps.gov/spg/LOC/CS/FEDLINKCS/postdate_1.html - and clicking on the link for Solicitation 01. FEDLINK is a nationwide interagency consortium sponsored by the Library of Congress through its Federal Library and Information Center Committee. FEDLINK offers contracting and support services to federal libraries and information centers of any size, located across the nation and abroad. The majority of federal agencies have no facilities or staff to cope with their preservation problems. Successful preservation treatment or reformatting of collections requires outsourcing to well-trained, experienced professionals with special skills as well as specialized equipment. The purpose of the RFP is to identify multiple qualified vendors and establish a basic ordering agreement for preservation services. It is divided into six sections, or lots: Lot 1 - Conservation of Rare Books and Other Bound Rare Library and Archival Materials (Including Protective Enclosures). Lot 2 - Conservation of Flat Paper and Other Unbound Rare Library and Archival Materials (Including Protective Enclosures). Lot 3 - Preservation Photocopying/Scanning of Books. Lot 4 - Preservation Microfilming. Lot 5 - Preservation Duplication of Photographs and Negatives. Lot 6 - Preservation Consultation and Training. FEDLINK encourages all qualified vendors to respond to the RFP. A vendor may submit a proposal for any or all lots (or parts of lots), as deemed appropriate. For questions about the RFP, please contact the contracting officer, Deborah Burroughs - phone: 202-707-0460; email: dbur@xxxxxxxx To learn more about the FEDLINK program, please contact Anne Harrison - phone: 202-707-4834; email: anha@xxxxxxxx Anne Harrison FEDLINK Network Program Specialist Library of Congress 101 Independence Ave. SE LA 217 Washington, DC 20540-4935 Phone: 202-707-4834 Fax: 202-707-4873 anha@xxxxxxx
