Preservation Consulting in Tajikistan
I am writing to find interested people in the preservation administration
field for a consulting project in Tajikistan. A librarian there,
with ties to the Mortenson Center for International Librarianship at the
University of Illinois, has written a successful grant to bring in a US
librarian to advise her a specific project (but I would bet it will
extend to more general preservation administrative concerns). She
would like the visit for May or September, 2004. I think someone
with preservation or conservation experience would be the best.
However, it might also be possible for a subject specialist in Central
Asia to do the visit, as long as he/she knew a lot about preservation or
got a very thorough briefing before going over there.
If you have any interest in this, please contact me as soon as
possible. Thanks,
Barbara Jones
