PRESERVATION OF ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS

This workshop will provide participants with a basic understanding of how
to care for architectural drawings. It will address storage, reformatting,
and conservation issues as well as how to identify architectural supports,
media and photoreproductions. The morning session will focus on how
architectural records were made and some of the possible storage options.
In the afternoon, participants will tour the University of Washington
Libraries architectural drawings collection and look at real architectural
records to work on media identification and typical preservation problems.
The afternoon will conclude with a discussion on reformatting and
treatment issues for architectural drawings.
