Lori Foley Named to Lead NEDCC's Field Service Office


The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) is pleased to announce
that Lori Foley is the new Director of Field Service as of March 1, 2005.
Ms. Foley has been an NEDCC Field Service Representative since 2001 and has
coordinated and conducted workshops and seminars on preservation, provided
disaster assistance to institutions and individuals, and served as adjunct
professor in preservation studies at Simmons Graduate School of Library and
Information Science.

Ms. Foley's previous experience includes the establishment of an in-house
bindery for the repair and preservation of collections at Harvard University
's Tozzer Library, and providing training for library staff and users on
collections care. She presently serves as Chair of the Essex National
Heritage Commission Historical Records Committee and Exhibition Chair of the
New England Chapter of the Guild of Book Workers. She holds a diploma from
the Hand Bookbinding program at the North Bennet Street School, Boston, MA.

The Northeast Document Conservation Center, located in Andover,
Massachusetts, is the largest non-profit, regional conservation center in
the country, and is devoted to the conservation and preservation of
paper-based materials. NEDCC has treated some of the nation's most important
paper objects, including Abraham Lincoln's family bible, journals from the
Lewis and Clark expedition, and Babe Ruth's personal scrapbooks.
