All,
Were having some troubles with our label printing, and are looking
for alternatives. Our library is using Sirsi, and the particular
computer that is currently printing labels was upgraded to XP. However
to continue the spine label printer working we had to run the
executables from windows 3.1 ( A software issue not hardware). This
machine is currently running an emulator so that it can work with
Infoview and the spine label printer. Unfortunately, the emulator
causes display problems when moving back and forth between different
applications. This is the reason that we need a second PC for the
staff person who works in this area, so she can check her e-mail and
access the internet. Has anybody switched to a different system of
label printing? I know they've tried some things in the past here,
such as a laser printer that would print multiple labels, but that was
rejected since sometimes you need only one or two labels printed. I've
done a little research and found a spine label library printing system
from Computype (Global Auto ID Solutions). Is anyone familiar with
this or had experience with this system? Thanks for any help. --Andy
