Re: [padg] Disposable Dust cloths

Ms. Brown,
My library went through a similar issue a year or so ago. I am not a
fan of any of these disposable products because they will leave oily
residues on shelves and I would never use them on books for that same
reason.

We compromised on magnetic dusting cloths that can be reused and reused
but not washed a bunch. Gaylord product " 20401610. I have taken to
washing our cloths, including these, at my home in my washer with NO
detergents.

Hope that helps some.
Thank you.
Rachel

Dear PADG: Our Circ departments are discouraged with using cleaning cloths because they need to be washed/reused. They would prefer a disposable product. They use the cloths on both shelves and books. Has anyone used this Pledge Grab-it product, below, or something similar? What are your thoughts on this as an alternative to cloths such as One Wipe or DustBunny? Off the cuff, it would seem easier and more sanitary. I appreciate your ideas on this. Thanks and best, Karen Brown/University at Albany Libraries
