I have seen blue tape crust that was
pretty powdery on some of our books. Often the tape carrier was no longer
there, just the residue. I found it pretty easy to scrape off with the
side of a Casselli spatula or microspatula (a dull scalpel also works).
The dust can be brushed off or vacuumed up. If it is still sticky, then
scaping won’t work. We’ve been lucky that the blue stuff was
