Iowa City, Ia. - The river muck is off
Hank Zahourek and he's looking pretty good today.
The polka musician's now clean, smiling face is plastered on the cover of one
of more than 5,000 vinyl records that became submerged in June when the Cedar
River flooded the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library in Cedar Rapids.
The records - mostly polkas and waltzes - are among items being cleaned and
restored for use by conservators at the University of Iowa Collections Recovery
Conservation Lab.
