[padg] CALRBS Summer 2009 Information
California Rare Book School is currently accepting
applications for Summer 2009.
Admission to CALRBS courses is conducted on a rolling
basis until the course is full; admission is determined by
the instructor of the course, based upon the information
provided in your application. Early application is
encouraged!

California Rare Book School (CALRBS) will offer 6 weeklong
courses in August, 2009. The courses will run M-F, for a
total of 40 hours of instruction.
Week 1 (August 3-7)
Special Collections Librarianship: Operations &
Administration; faculty: Lynda Claassen, University of

Rare Book Cataloging; faculty: Randal Brandt, The Bancroft

Introduction to Archives for Special Collections
Librarians; faculty: Anne J. Gilliland, University of
California Los Angeles
Week 2 (August 10-14)
Descriptive Bibliography; faculty: Bruce Whiteman, The
William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, University of
California Los Angeles
Books of the Far West, with an Emphasis on California;
faculty: Gary F. Kurutz, California State Library
Preservation Stewardship of Library Collections; faculty:
Mark S. Roosa, Pepperdine University
