ALCTS/PARS Promoting Preservation Interest Group Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 10:30 am to 12:30 Hilton, Continental C Preservation Grant Funding: Who, How and Why The inaugural meeting of the Promoting Preservation Interest Group will be hosting a panel on Preservation Grant Funding: Who, How, and Why. The panel will include the following speakers: · Kevin Cherry, Senior Program Office, Office of Library Services, Institute for Museum and Library Services will present a brief overview of federal funding for libraries, before taking questions about the application and review process, funding priorities, and suggestions for making the strongest application possible. · Liz Bishoff, Director, Digital and Preservation Services, · Kara McClurken, Head of Preservation Services, University of Virginia Library, University of Virginia will discuss the grants either currently underway or being applied for by the UVA Library as well as offer grant writing insights garnered through her previous position with Lyrasis.
