Re: arsclist cylinder frequency range



I apologize for not following this thread in detail, but removing noise is known to be a major source of improvement to compressed files. This is one of the first thing one does in video when making DVDs for example.

I would think that intelligent noise removal--although that may not be compatible with simple workflow if the volume is large--would be better than simple filtering.

I've done some 78s that have made people quite happy, tho I don't do disks very often--and never do cylinders <smile>.

Algorithmix click reduction followed by their or Diamond Cut's noise reduction and then low-pass filtering might be an option to consider. Of course, applying the Cedar devices in the proper sequence might provide even better results, but the cost is, of course, greater.
