Best known for releasing the some of Charlie Parker's best studio recordings, Dial Records also featured other important bebop greats such as Dizzy Gillespie, Howard McGhee, Dodo Marmaros, Dextor Gordon, James Moody, Erroll Garner, and Don Lanphere. The label also reissued recordings by such figures in "historical jazz" as Sidney Bechet, Earl Hines, and Willie "the Lion" Smith.
