Re: [ARSCLIST] Thesaurus transcription wanted...
FWIW,
Somone has pencilled in the name " Joseph Mayseder" after the title
for" The Tempest".
Similarly, Offenbach (of course) has been pencilled in after La Belle
Helene Selections and " Zeller's Bird Seller " after" Song Of The
Roses"
Also after each title:
(:06-2 3/4 - 3:25)
( :07- 3 1/2 -2:00 )
( :06-3-3:10 )
I know you'd see all this for yourself after the record made it to you
, but I thought you might find it interesting anyway.Nothing else of
note on the Symphony or Military Band side.

The content is:
Side 1 SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
a. The Tempest
b. La Belle Helene: Selections
c. Song of the Roses
Side 2 MILITARY BAND
h. Song to the People
j. Over The Waves
k. Naila
I suspect that track 'a', "The Tempest" is really a piece by Joseph
Hellmesberger (1828-1893). The actual German title is Gewitterszene,
usually
translated as Storm Scene.
The "Symphony Orchestra" may have been members of the NBC Symphony, and
they
may have taken liberties with the original Hellmesberger score.
This piece may be one of many Thesaurus tracks that found it's way into
the
stock mood music library prepared by Thesaurus for the Lone Ranger
radio show.
It has a "stagecoach chase" ambience which is a typical scene that
the show
producers used it for.
The ultimate intent is to produce a multi CD set of ALL the music that
was used
in this special library that was prepared for the Lone Ranger radio
show. It
has all been identified and written about in a book "The Mystery of the
Masked
Man's Music" by my partner in this project, Reginald M. Jones Jr. and
published
by Scarecrow Press of Metuchin N.J. (ISBN 0-8108-1982-1)
