Re: [ARSCLIST] Delamination on Aluminum base laquer disc

Now for something completely different.... here's a real twist:-

Has anyone established a workable method to cause lacquer to delaminate from the aluminum base? This would be done using a scrap lacquer disc and only for the purpose of recovering the aluminum base cleanly and intact.

Methods like pouring boiling water on the lacquer don't work consistently... it seems that the lacquer either sticks like glue or is easily prompted to separate, but it isn't consistent across the surface or two sides of the the same disc!

Possibly heat carefully applied with a heat gun?

Does anyone have any other ideas?
