To be expected...many of the "working class" are fortunate enough to
hold union jobs (which, at best, can provide 7-digit annual incomes,
at least in the US...) and have plenty of "spendin' cash" to buy
CD's, event tickets, pricey souvenirs, usw.! Further, many if not
most of these folks are approaching (or have reached?) middle age,
which explains why "new country" is often more than slightly
reminiscent of sixties/seventies "rock" music with a guitar and
pedal steel added to give it "country authenticity"...

In fact, I have run across web sites (and received e-mail)
exhorting for a revival of "REAL country music!" When I was
a youth, "hillbilly" music was considered rather declasse,
as were its fans...
