That sounds heavy for LPs. Maybe 78's in soft paper sleeves. I'd
estimate
maybe 40lbs per linear
foot of regular LPs in non-gatefold sleeves, less for gatefolds and
still less
for box sets.
10" Shellac 78's weigh .5 lbs each...12" weigh 1.44 times as much.
I've never tried weighing vinyl LP's...but I suspect their jackets
also have a significant weight?
I grabbed a bunch of LPs and weighed them on the kitchen scales.
20 LPs, 3 inches thick, weight 11 pounds.
So around 44 pounds per foot. These were mostly in standard sleeves with
outer clear plastic sleeves added.
Better to allow a good safety margin for shelving. The manufacturers may
be optimistic.
