Well, I can't afford to hire a lawyer to translate...but it appears, at 
least to me,
that the revised Law doesn't (Gott sei dank...!) replace the 50-year (or 
so)
term of sound recordings in Canada with its US of A counterpart (basically
"eternity plus five more years"...!)

It DOES however give them the right to fine you for recording anything and 
playing it back anytime anywhere forever, probably including anything you 
videotaped 25 years ago. Since our government can't even keep secret documents 
out of train cars or their girlfriends' apartments, let alone find their 
posterior without a GPS, I don't think we'll be getting a knock on the door and 
jackboots going for our iPods just yet.
